The organizers of the 71st Cannes Film Festival announced on Thursday the titles of the films appearing in the official competition. The Cannes Film Festival will take place this year from May 8th to 19th.

The curtain is lifted, although there are still some uncertainties. Here are in any case the first films announced in competition and out of competition of the official selection of the 71st Cannes Film Festival chosen among the 1906 feature films on offer. As Thierry Frémaux, general delegate of the film festival pointed out, there are many new names in world cinema and three women directors in competition.
